
Best Pick Your Own Farms Near Toronto
It’s go time, Strawberry season is officially on, here are some options for ‘pick your own farms’ throughout the summer.
Make sure to double-check with each farm before you go for open times and if they have any fruit left for picking that day. Another thing good to check for is if you can bring your own baskets or if they have ones for purchase. PRO Tip: Go as early as they open otherwise you could face long lines on the weekends.
Andrew Scenic Farms in Milton lets you pick your own berries, cost is $15 per person (5 and up), $7.50 for seniors, under 5 are free. You also have to pay for what you pick of course!
Distance from Midtown Toronto: Approx 1 hr
Brooks Farms in Mount Albert (North of Newmarket) is about 1 hour outside midtown Toronto. They have an amazing play area, my favourite is the giant bouncing pillows! For picking, you may not bring your own baskets. You pay for basket and everyone over 6 years old and up must have their own basket. The playground has its own fee starting at $13.99 on the weekdays and $15.99 on the weekends plus HST. They offer half-price Tuesdays too!

Robintide Farms in Maple have pick your fruits and vegetables 7 days a week. No entry fees, but everyone 4 years old and up must pick a minimum 1L basket (or at least pay for it).

Thames River Melons in Innerkip (near Woodstock) is about 1:30min outside of Toronto. They have pick your own fruits and vegetables 7 days a week. No entry fees, just pay for your berries. Must use their containers.

Rose Family Farm in Mount Albert (North of Newmarket) is about 1 hour outside midtown Toronto. Everyone over 5 years who enters the strawberry patch will be required to buy a 4 quart basket, $15 each.

Strawberry Creek Farms in Markham is welcoming families and I hear they have great pie! No entry, pick your own and pay for what you pick.
Distance from Midtown Toronto: Approx 50 mins
Reesor’s Market & Bakery in Stouffville has an entry fee for 13 years old and up for $14.25 but includes a 3L basket to pick your own fruit. Must have a reservation. Kids 3-12 years old are $7.50 which includes 1.5 litre basket. No reservation is needed for kids as long as those 13 and up have one.
Distance from Midtown Toronto: Approx 40 mins
Organics Farm in Markham costs $14 per person 3 years old and up to enter the field. This price includes a 2-litre basket of pick your own strawberries. No reservations in advance, so you do take your chance if they are too busy. They have strawberries and apples for picking pending the season.

Brantwood Farms in Brantford required no booking in advance. Cost is $15/4L basket. They have camping pods available over the summer too!

Downey’s Farm in Caledon is open 7 days a week. No reservations or entry fee required, but each person must pick a minimum of $6.50. You must use their baskets and no pets are allowed. They have strawberries, raspberries and apples for picking pending the time of year.

Carl Laidlaw farms in Brampton does not open until September for Apple and Pears. It’s one of our family’s favourite spots. Last year, the cost to enter was $5.75 for kids and $7.75 for adults. You can bring your own bags. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.
